Taking advantage of pre-existing networks, high-yield farms contribute to unequal access to water resources, as well as to soil and water contamination through the use of accelerating agrochemicals. At the same time, its viability is based on the super-exploitation of immigrant workers, hidden agents, subject to precarious working and housing conditions.
